Having moved freight all around Australia, our client is a seasoned national freight company. They connect miners, primary producers, and industry with both local and international markets by transporting over 250 million tons of Australian commodities. They have an exciting opportunity for a mechanical fitter to join their well-established team in their distribution centre on a casual basis located in Forrestfield.
The role will be working 3 days per week. Our client is flexible on which days and hours are worked. This role pays an hourly rate of $62 per hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading).
Key responsibilities:
Maintaining the tool store and equipment register.
Small maintenance tasks on assets such as LVs (Light Vehicles), forklifts etc
Manual handling - lifting components, moving objects up to 20kg. Can involve awkward positions working on Light Vehicles, Forklifts etc.
Mixing Nitrite for locos, including monitoring a RO (Reverse Osmosis) system and checking fuel farm
General maintenance on other various plant where applicable
Dealing with LV fleet management such as services
Assist on occasions with co ordinating contractors when they attend for work
Assisting with requests from regional depots where applicable
Successful candidates will have:
Current Forklift High Risk Work license
Experience operating a Forklift is desirable
Valid WA drivers licence
Strong background using general hand tools, i.e. general handyman or maintenance work.
Not completely necessary to have trade experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to undergo pre-employment medical
