Job Description:
Assisting the Head Chef in daily kitchen procedures
Preparation of food for service
Working with the Head Chef creatively for menu development
Assisting with the management of food safety and hygiene practices
Monitoring portion and waste control
Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to staff.
Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure conformance to established.
Enforce OH&S and hygiene regulations and standards.
Meet with customers to discuss menus for special occasions.
Analyse recipes to assign prices to menu items, based on food, labour, and overhead costs.
Prepare and cook foods in quantity of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
Based on customers preferences develop menu.
Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages
Work experience: At least two years’ Experience in a fast-paced kitchen is preferred
Education/Skills:
· At least Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality (For Chef)
· At least Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality (For Cook)
Salary: Salary range of $70,500 – A$90,000. The position is a permanent full time position.
