Civmec are looking for an experienced Welding / Mechanical inspector to join our project team working on a Lithium plant. This is a drive in, drive out role based in Kwinana. The is a full time drive in/drive out project role based on site in Kwinana on a 5:2 roster, the project is scheduled for completion in late 2024.
The Role
We require an experienced QC Inspector to support the Quality Manager on site. Duties will include the following:
• Review of project quality documentation including, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Weld Procedures, Project Specifications, and drawings.
• Perform weld inspections, before and after welding.
• consumables, essential variables, and size/shape of welding are compliant with the approved weld procedures, standards, and drawings.
• Ensure weld traceability is maintained on all weldments.
• Quality release of all compliant weldments and sign out of all associated ITP activities.
• Working to the quality management system procedures and work instructions
• Flange management / bolt tensioning inspections.
• Undertake Mechanical inspections.
• Overseeing non-destructive testing, qualification records.
• Maintain accurate paperwork and records. To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and experience:
About You
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in a similar project site-based role.
• Current recognised International Welding Inspector qualifications or CSWIP3.1 or equivalent
• NACE qualification desirable
• Mechanical Knowledge desirable
• Knowledge of Australian / ASME standards relating to structural steel, pipe, and welding
• Experienced and familiar with ISO and AS/NZS weld symbols.
• Strong welding knowledge
• Mechanical knowledge is also highly regarded.
• Trade or tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline
• An ability to liaise at all levels with the Client and Subcontractors and ability to work as part of a team.
• Self-discipline and work ethic to operate efficiently within a team or autonomously.
• Solid communication skills to work through issues and negotiate win/win outcomes.
