Senior Safety Advisor

South-West Sydney location | Permanent position | $150k + super + travel Your new company An Australian Heavy Manufacturer company in Western Sydney are looking for a Senior Safety Advisor on a permanent basis to join their team with the common focus of improving safety. The role will be based at their main site in Minto with weekly travel to their 4 regional sites the second half of the week. Your new role

Develop business level policy, procedures, systems and SOPs
Engage businesses and encourage consistency around standard safety solutions
Perform assurance functions as required and prepare concise reports for management
Work with businesses to identify and develop new initiatives that lead to measurable performance gains within safety systems, processes and behaviours
Actively assist business leaders with implementation of corrective actions and/or safety improvement initiatives
Assist with implementation of agreed corporate safety objectives
Ensure that return to work claims are regularly reviewed and effectively managed
Design plant risk assessments and manage training functions
Have a regular presence on site and lead safety from the front line
Actively lead and coach other Safety Advisers in the State within a dotted line reporting structure.
Engage with and promote groupwide safety initiatives


What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications in WHS and extensive experience as a WHS Advisor
Training experience (Certificate IV Training & Assessment preferred)
Exposure to Manufacturing/Warehousing industries
Strong understanding of relevant legislation
Demonstrated experience in reducing workplace injuries
Incident investigation training, with experience leading investigations.
Experience in preparing and delivering training to frontline workgroups
Competent in conducting risk assessments
Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
