Position Overview:

As a Mechanical Engineering Technician with Slabtec, you will play a crucial role in our engineering projects, focusing on the mechanical aspects of our strengthening solutions. Your work will support the design, testing, and implementation of our advanced reinforcement technologies, ensuring their efficiency and efficacy in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain specialized mechanical equipment used in the application of concrete strengthening materials, carbon fibre, metal bars and metal plates, ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to safety protocols.
• Assist in setting up test apparatus for evaluating the effectiveness of reinforcement materials on concrete structures, executing tests according to predefined protocols and recording data for further analysis by engineers.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration on mechanical devices and tools involved in the strengthening process, identifying wear and potential issues before they impact project timelines or outcomes.
• Follow detailed technical instructions and diagrams to assemble mechanical components required in the remediation process, ensuring each component meets specified tolerances and fits within the overall system.
• Monitor the performance of mechanical systems during the application of reinforcement solutions, quickly identifying malfunctions or deviations from expected performance and escalating issues to engineering staff for resolution.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation for equipment use and maintenance, providing clear instructions and guidelines based on hands-on experience and manufacturer specifications.
• Support the engineering team by preparing samples, managing supplies, and ensuring that all mechanical aspects of the project site are organized and ready for each phase of the strengthening process.
• Engage in the practical implementation of quality control measures, inspecting mechanical components and assemblies for compliance with project specifications and industry standards.


Qualifications:

• A technical qualification in mechanical engineering or a related field, or at least three years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical assembly, installation, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• Proficiency in documenting and reporting with precision and clarity.
