Role Purpose
Wood Mackenzie Power and Renewables provides a one-stop integrated subscription, analysis and advisory service for companies in the energy and related sectors, enabling our clients to make the best decisions within a constantly evolving global energy industry.
We are looking for a Power Market Analyst or Senior Analyst (depending on qualifications) to join our dynamic and expanding team in Sydney. The successful candidate will join our cross-technology team in downtown Sydney and be responsible for power market analysis, thought leadership and client engagement, and business development for the Australia market. He or she will use cutting-edge power dispatch models, engage industry executives on key market trends and forecasts, and deliver high-impact and original research to clients.
Joining a global team of over 100 power and renewables experts, you will quickly contribute to our power research in Asia Pacific. You will analyse the impact of latest policies and investments with our regional power models, develop technology and power price outlooks, coordinate with experts and stakeholders to optimise forecasts, and work on latest modelling advances such as battery revenue outlooks.
With guidance and reasonable inputs from the Research Director, you will also independently prepare high-quality, insightful reports, publications and presentations to influence clients’ business decisions. Through research trips, client interactions and industry events you will have opportunity to build and maintain relationships with a range of clients and other experts in the power & renewables industry. You will stay informed on key market trends and implement the latest ideas into power modelling and research reports. You will also play an important role in our commercial strategy including building new content, and managing teams to support global and local clients manage investments in the Australian market.
