Scientific Officer- Simulation and Practical Experience (Physiotherapy)

We are currently recruiting for a Scientific Officer- Physiotherapy to assist the University in ensuring the delivery of high-quality simulation and practical teaching activities across predominantly studies related to Physiotherapy as well as the Health Group collectively.

Under the supervision of the Team Leader and Technical Manager for Simulation & Practical Experience, you will actively manage practical teachings including classroom set ups, equipment maintenance, consumable inventory, and compliance with the Health & Safety protocols.

This a fast-paced role which offers a high degree of variation in daily tasks and responsibilities. We’re looking for a proactive individual with the ability to conduct self-directed learning and development practices that will contribute to successful student practical experiences.

What we offer 
This is a fixed-term, part-time (40%) position and is primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast Campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW5 range $74,016 - $83,033 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $86,598 - $97,148 per annum.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive and engaging attitude to assist in classroom learning. You will also have, but not limited to:

  • Completed a relevant Health based degree with subsequent experience in successfully providing technical support to the Health Group.
  • Practical experience in a Physiotherapy setting is highly regarded.
  • Developed critical thinking skills, highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong Health and Safety compliance acumen within specialised teaching environments. 
  • Excellent communication and a collaborative attitude with a desire to work in a strong team culture.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365, including Teams & SharePoint platforms.
  • Ability to handle direction and work autonomously, readily adaptable to changing work requirements and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
