Technical Officer - Simulation and Practical Experience (Nursing)

We are currently recruiting for a passionate Technical Officer- Nursing to support the Simulation and Practical Experience team to ensure the delivery of high-quality simulation and practical related learning activities across predominantly Nursing as well as the Health Group collectively.

Under the guidance of the Team Leader and Technical Manager for Simulation & Practical Experience, you will actively manage the simulation laboratories. You will be responsible for providing expert technical advice and support to Immersive Simulations, including procurement, maintenance, set up and demonstrations of simulation and clinical equipment used in the simulation spaces. The role will also be responsible for rostering, timetabling, and complying with Health & Safety protocols.

This position requires the knowledge and ability to act quickly and informatively to support the university which will naturally offer a high degree of variation in daily tasks and responsibilities. We’re looking for a proactive individual with the ability to conduct self-directed learning and development practices that will contribute to a successful student clinical simulation experience and the teams continued success.

What we can offer
This is a fixed term (ending 20/12/24), full time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.

Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 4 range $68,367 - $72,135 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $79,989 - $84,397 per annum.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent class facilitation knowledge communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive attitude to assist in classroom-based learning. You will also have, but not limited to:

  • Completed a relevant Health based degree with subsequent experience in successfully providing technical support to health sciences or similar Allied Health working environment.
  • Experience in a Nursing setting will be highly regarded.
  • Developed critical thinking skills, highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong Health and Safety compliance acumen within specialised teaching environments. 
  • Excellent communication and a collaborative attitude with a desire to work in a strong team culture.
  • Experience using Microsoft 365, including Teams & SharePoint platforms.
  • Ability to handle direction and work autonomously, oversee and give support to a small team, readily adaptable to changing work requirements and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
