As Chair of QBE's Global Privacy Council, the Group Head of Privacy requires effective, impactful leadership of an enterprise-wide community of Privacy practitioners, lawyers and other key representatives from diverse functions. This senior role reports to QBE's Group Chief Compliance Officer, and as a key thought leader will define and shape the core principles of QBE's global privacy program; acting as the foundation for ongoing compliance with applicable Privacy Laws globally and embedding a culture of respect for privacy that supports this compliance. Whilst this is ideally a Sydney-based position, we are happy to talk flexible working for interested candidates. Other key accountabilities include: Set and lead the strategic direction for QBE's global privacy risk and compliance program in line with business enterprise strategy and business priorities, implementation and regular review of this strategy (including vision, roadmap and priorities). Ensure effective communication and dissemination of privacy compliance strategy, policies and processes globally. Lead and chair our central forum to bring together and collaborate with QBE Divisional Privacy leads. Take ownership and leadership to successfully implement change in privacy related matters Collating global privacy metrics and KRIs. Provide Line 2 oversight, challenge and support to enable business to meet its initiatives, initiate change or to pursue opportunities linked to new and emerging technologies while effectively mitigating key privacy related risks. About you This is an opportunity for a senior experienced line 2 risk professional with domain expertise in Privacy. Ideally you will have demonstrated experience in designing, implementing and/or overseeing a privacy framework within the financial services industry more broadly. Ideal skills & experience: Experience in assessing privacy matters (PIAs/ DPIAs). Strong leadership and influencing skills with particular focus on ability to understand and balance effective risk management/privacy risk mitigation with broader commercial imperatives Exceptional stakeholder management skills to liaise with and influence matrixed stakeholders across QBE's global operations. Experience in liaising with and reporting to privacy regulators and supervisory authorities. Experience working with internal and/or external legal counsel.
