As an Underwriter or Senior Underwriter at QBE, you will be part of a successful and dynamic team spread across Australia, with the opportunity to grow and develop your insurance and underwriting career. You will be responsible for running a profitable Workers Compensation portfolio, providing insights and expertise to your customers including underwriting and maintaining a renewal portfolio and new business as well as responding to quotes. This strategic role will see you: Underwrite Workers Compensation risks, (renewals and quotes), and adhere to underwriting guidelines and standards Respond to customer queries and ensure tasks are managed in accordance with QBE and regulator performance standards Work effectively with the underwriting team and other internal stakeholders from Product, Claims, Sales and Relationship teams Maintain and build customer and partner relationships and provide insights into your portfolio Support business development and new business growth targets About you While many of the core skills will be learned and acquired working in the role, we are looking for someone who has a Workers Compensation or insurance background, preferably underwriting or claims, with the following qualities: High-level attention to detail and accuracy Strong sense of accountability Customer focused Excellent written and verbal communication skills A hunger to learn Strong negotiation skills Resilient and able to work under pressure Team player About QBE We can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future - helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
