Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee Location: Sydney Type: Permanent, full time The opportunity We currently have an opportunity for an Underwriter, Motor to join the Elders Insurance Underwriting Agency team. Your key responsibilities in this role will be to achieve sustainable profit and growth for Elders through the provision of specialist advice, direction and technical support, and the delivery of excellent levels of customer service to all Insurance Agents within your assigned portfolio. You'll also underwrite business in accordance with business plans within set underwriting guidelines, service standards and individual earned underwriting authority. Your new role A day in the role may look a bit like this; Underwrite new business and renewals providing quotes in a timely and professional manner Participate in meetings, as required, to support the development of strategy, share knowledge and best practice Monitor and review underwriting standards procedures and checklists Ensure all documentation is accurate and complies with organizational guidelines and legislative requirements Develop and maintain good working relationships with all customers, Agents and internal stakeholders Build strong knowledge of current legislation, best practice, underwriting acceptance levels, systems and organisational guidelines Happy to talk flexible working About you To be successful in this role you will come from an insurance background and will ideally have: An understanding of Business insurance, Farm Insurance and Personal lines insurance preferred but not all are essential Flexibility to work across a changing portfolio Relationship development skills Experience of developing a growing portfolio Problem solving and process improvement experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail About QBE We can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future - helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
