Bell Asset Management is a global equity specialist and has been managing global equities on behalf of Australian and US pension funds since 1997 and has been managing its own managed funds since 2007. We are a team of 28, with Investment Management and operations run out of Melbourne. 

After significant investment in our team and systems we continue to grow our assets under management. We manage over $5 billion of assets under management that is focused on delivering consistent performance outcomes and high quality service to our clients located in Australia, Asia, Europe and the United States. We are investing for growth in clients and assets sources both domestically and overseas. 

 

About the Opportunity 

Reporting to the Head of Finance, our Senior Corporate Accountant will be part of a small, high- performing team with regular exposure to management and other business functions. You will get the opportunity to rapidly further develop your technical skills and commercial acumen through exposure to a wide range of business issues and stakeholders. 

In this role you will play critical part in all aspects of management and financial reporting requirements of our business. You will assist the business across various corporate accounting functions. Your responsibilities will involve but not limited to:  

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial accounts 
  • Accounts Payable, Cash management and Credit card management 
  • Calculating and invoicing the management and performance fees accurately and in a timely manner. 
  • Prepare Monthly BAS, Annual Income Tax, and FBT workpapers. 
  • Assist in annual audit and tax processes. 
  •  Assist in annual budgeting process and updated financial reforecasts. 
  • Provide oversight for corporate accounting and tax related to BAM USA. 

 

About You 

We are looking for a motivated self-starter who is adaptable and comfortable managing expectations with stakeholders across the organisation. If you thrive in a hands-on role within a fast-paced environment, this is a fantastic opportunity to advance your career.     

Technical skills 

  • CPA or CA qualified 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in relevant financial and Management Accountant roles. 
  • Expertise using accounting software Xero 
  • Excellent communicator skills, both verbally and written. 
  • Strong literacy in MS office Excel and Word.,   
  • Proven experience in driving outcomes, identifying requirements, addressing issues, and planning effective solutions. 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
