To continue our success, we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Tax Accountant. This role helps to ensure that all internal and external corporate tax compliance activities and ancillary financial accounting tasks for both Australia and New Zealand are completed in a timely manner, as well as assisting in the provision of taxation advice to the business and on ad hoc tax projects as required.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with day-to-day tax activities to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws and standards AU and NZ External Compliance & Reporting - assist with meeting the company's external tax responsibilities including all required returns (income tax, GST, FBT, withholding tax), as well as conducting associated internal tax reviews and helping to implement new legislation as requiredAU and NZ Internal Reporting - assist with the validation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and taxation information for various internal (local/overseas) stakeholders Preparation of tax calculations and notes for Statutory financial StatementsTaxation Advice - perform tax research work to assist with advising the business on tax related issues (such as FBT exposures, applicability of GST, and business implications of tax legislative changes)Proactively review current processes for system and process productivity improvements, implementing changes as required
Qualifications
About you:
Fully qualified CA or CPA3+ years commercial/chartered experience, with emphasis on tax requirements, Strong excel skills and confident in using large ERP systems (SAP preferred)Experience in a large commercial organisation (preferably FMCG or retail) or a leading chartered firmStrong planning, organisational and analytical skillsAttention to detail and ability to work independently Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)Willingness and ability to learn fast and to work with large volumes of data while meeting strict deadlinesAbility to collaborate and liaise with other teams across the business
