Our team at Unity Fund Services is expanding and we are searching for a Fund Accountant to join the team who wants to redefine fund administration.
We are building our team with proactive, analytical thinkers who approach problem solving with a positive attitude. We are searching for Fund Accountants who have the ability to build strong rapport with their peers and also are able to be trusted advisers to our clients.
The role will see you assume responsibility for a number of funds including:
• property funds
• private equity funds
• infrastructure funds
• fund of funds
• debt funds
Additional to fundamental fund accountant tasks day to day responsibilities include:
• Maintenance and review of accounting records including entering transactions into Reckon Accounts accounting software;
• Processing of investor transactions;
• Tax compliance including distribution calculations and BAS returns;
• Liaison with external auditors and service providers;
• Processing of expense payments (funds operating expenses);
• Preparation of annual Financial Statements; and
• Preparation of periodical management reporting packs (typically monthly).
Further requirements to apply
• 1-3 years of general fund accounting experience (alternatives, hedge, private equity or property fund administration experience helpful but not essential);
• Ability to deliver accurate and timely work in accordance with deadlines
• Understanding of accounting principles
• Excellent written and communication skills
• Relevant qualifications in accounting and/or finance (CPA/CA qualified or willingness to study towards);
• Strong discipline in record keeping
• A team player and also able to work independently and
• Understanding and respect of confidentiality.
Desirable
• Advanced Excel and competent Word and PowerPoint skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills essential
• Experience in managing client service relationships an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills - clarity and attention to detail is key
• Good commercial awareness
