Our Pact Sustainability division is pioneering a whole of product life cycle approach to sustainable packaging. Partnering with global brands and local dairy producers, we integrate supply chain efficiencies and sustainable practices into everything we design and manufacture. This role sits within our new state of the art recycling facility, converting plastic waste into plastic resin.

About this opportunity

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Team Leader is responsible for managing operations during their shift.  One of four Team Leaders operating 24/5 & 24/7 operations at this Greenfield, state of the art recycling facility, the Team Leader will be a natural and engaging leader, adept at delivering the operational requirements of their shift.  Supported by Workplace Health and Safety, Quality and Maintenance, the Team leader role has day-to-day accountability for leading the shift and team, including people leadership, supporting maintenance activities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to deliver production and shift targets.

Key responsibilities:

The Team Leader will support the Production Manager to build a culture that has a strong team focus, continuous improvement and operational excellence driving towards achieving success across the following:

  • WHSE
  • Employee engagement
  • Quality
  • Leadership
  • Delivery
  • Cost

The KPIs are achieved by providing strong leadership, and guidance to operators, acting as a team across shifts & departments to deliver on operational goals. 

The incumbent will work closely with peers to ensure:

  • The highest level of safety is achieved.
  • Manufacturing activities are maintained to the highest standards.
  • All products are made on time and to specification.
  • Productivity meets or exceeds standards.
  • A culture of continuous improvement is established.
  • Open, direct, and respectful communication is practiced across the site.

Your skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Y 12 or equivalent
  • Further education desirable, however, not essential
  • Min. 2 years people leadership experience
  • Preferred experience in plastics manufacturing and/or recycling
  • Sound communication across multiple levels of the business.
  • Driving continuous improvement culture.
  • Working within highly automated facilities.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading high performing teams.
