The transformation you will experience
This is an incredible opportunity to bring your top-notch strategic thinking and storytelling skills into play by joining our team as the new Strategy Manager. As part of the broader Strategy team spanning both our Sydney and Melbourne offices, you'll have the platform to deliver best-in-class strategies and solutions that drive business growth for clients, while also supporting internal teams with valuable business and consumer insights.
We work with a cool mix of clients, diving into everything from FMCG and alcoholic beverages to finance and tourism. These are not just clients; they are trendsetters. Big on shaking things up, they're all about sparking innovation and giving new ideas a whirl. In this role, you'll serve as a genuine partner to these forward-thinking clients, providing you with the opportunity to elevate both your strategic and creative thinking whilst propelling their brands in the marketplace to new heights.
As our Strategy Manager, you will also be responsible for enhancing our agency's culture of Never Standing Still by using thought leadership and disseminating this across the agency and to clients.
Reporting into the Head of Strategy, your scope will include:
- Developing and delivering strategies to some of Australia's most loved and respected clients from brief through implementation, including writing and delivering the strategic product
- Acting as the ‘go to’ source of insight into consumer behaviour across the agency with a natural focus on developing a strong point of view on implications for our clients’
- Being curious and proactive in understanding our clients’ businesses, media, and culture, ensuring our clients are at the cutting edge of knowing what is around the corner in terms of changes in consumer behaviour
- Building and fostering strong relationships with Starcom’s client business and craft leads
- Championing our People Powered Growth philosophy and ways of working internally and with our clients
- Supporting the strategic delivery of new business pitches where appropriate

What type of person will be successful in this role
You’ll possess:
- Ideally 4+ years’ experience with a background in media strategy or planning
- Strong written communication skills to deliver strategic solutions and proposals for clients
- Strong insight capability in behavioural, cultural, business and media
- Strong business acumen, are a problem solver, forward thinker and curious
- As comfortable with numbers as with understanding culture
- Strong knowledge of the Australian media landscape and Australian media tool and data sources
- A team player, who knows how to best navigate team dynamics
- Extensive experience in researching and transforming raw data into insights
- Experience in using multiple research platforms, from existing databases through to the development of research proposals and reports.
- Good knowledge of media insights tool such as Nielsen CMV Clear Decisions, GWI or Roy Morgan
