The transformation you will experience  

We're in search of an experienced Social Lead to join our team for a 12-month parental leave contract. This is an incredible opportunity to guide and spearhead the growth of our Social Media Department to new heights, bringing the vision to life. Partnering with the Executive Digital Experience Director, you’ll have the scope to shape and implement both organic and paid social media strategies for our diverse client portfolio. Leveraging your expertise in social-first approaches and data-led creativity, you will steer activities that not only captivate audiences, but are also supported by insightful analytics.

You will have the platform to provide thought leadership, defining strategies for social campaign optimisation and fostering the growth of social media within our organisation; all whilst working closely and ensuring a seamless integration with our broader Digital, Strategy and Creative teams. As the Social Lead, you will be deeply engaged in mentoring and guiding teams, driving innovation, staying ahead of industry trends, and continuously advancing the boundaries of what's possible in the realm of Social.

You'll have the opportunity to create a meaningful impact by pursuing results driven outcomes; demonstrate your initiative to boosting our social presence, amplifying brand visibility, and providing exceptional social experiences for our clients.

 

Key responsibilities

Team leadership

  • Lead and mentor a dedicated team of social specialists including two Social Account Managers and one Community Manager, overseeing their performance and career development
  • Develop frameworks for workflow and drive collaboration with internal and external media, strategy, and creative teams to ensure seamless integration of social strategies with other marketing efforts
  • Work closely with platform, data, and industry partners to ensure the smooth execution of social media campaigns

Client relationships

  • Build, foster and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their business needs and delivering tailored social strategies and solutions for impact and growth
  • Act as the escalation point for complex campaign, strategic, and client relationship challenges

Social excellence

  • Develop, set, and maintain high standards of excellence in social strategy, planning and execution across the team 
  • Influence creative and strategy teams to create innovative, best-in-class social content.
  • Drive the implementation and execution of both organic and paid social activities, content calendar delivery, paid social execution, and detailed reporting, whilst managing budgets and potential scope creep
  • Oversee our efforts in fostering and building strong and engaged communities for our clients, supporting them in setting excellence in positive, proactive and crisis management strategies and activities.
  • Use analytical thinking and data-driven insights to optimise social activities and provide valuable recommendations to clients and team members alike.

What type of person will be successful in this role

  • Ideally 6+ years’ experience in social media strategic planning and management
  • Exceptional leadership skills with exposure to building, mentoring, and influencing high-performing teams
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing successful social strategies and communities that drive impact, change, and growth
  • Strong understanding of best practices for all existing and emerging social platforms (i.e., Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat)
  • Familiarity with online analytical tools and social scheduling applications, such as Emplifi, Brandwatch, and Google Analytics
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in using data and metrics to guide marketing strategies and decisions
  • Strong commercial understanding and a proven track record of growing social revenue
  • Experience working closely with world-class/world-class brands and clients, understanding their business needs, and delivering tailored social media solutions is highly preferred
  • Passionate about staying current with or early adopting social media, PR and digital trends, channels, and best practices
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas and strategies clearly
