Role Overview:

As Capability Development Manager you will lead the creation of innovative learning strategies, shaping our leaders of tomorrow, providing learning opportunities on best practice supports for our workforce of dedicated support workers and cultivating a culture of continuous learning.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the design and implementation of learning strategies and programs that strengthen leadership and management capability and performance management i.e talent development programs.
  • Provide leadership in developing a learning organisation focused on its people, our organisational culture, continuous improvement and learning outcomes.
  • Manage and coach a team of direct reports to ensure the successful implementation of learning and development initiatives.
  • Partner with our Transformation team to support change management initiatives where there is an identified capability uplift i.e. digital literacy, documentation practice, system usage.
  • Develop and maintain career pathways and capability frameworks, defining capability and competency uplift required for each career step.
  • Responsible for the implementation of a Learning Management System to facilitate compliance monitoring and to provide access to learning and development opportunities for our workforce.
  • Develop and manage L&D budget, negotiate contracts, build and maintain relationships with third party vendors.

About You:

  • Proven experience (7+ years) in designing and implementing learning strategies, preferably in leadership and management development and within a similar sector.
  • Demonstrated success in leading the uplift of an organisations capability across key competencies and contributing to an improved employee experience. 
  • Extensive experience in developing and implementing capability development programs for diverse audiences and learning styles through varying delivery models.
  • Experience managing a Learning Management System and overseeing L&D budgets and vendor relationships.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrated experience in effective program management.
  • Ability to critically evaluate information from various angles, assess risks, and identify solutions.
