Who we are looking for...
We’re looking for a Business Development Lead to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a clear, effective communicator who can craft proposals that respond to client needs. You care about delivering impact in the world and convincing clients that we’re the right team for the job.
You’ll work with the GM of Business Operations to contribute to achieving revenue targets and driving growth. You are skilled in implementing business development processes and are committed to enhancing our tools, systems, and processes. Knowledge of Human Centred Design and experience in agency or technology contexts is essential.
What you will do:
Deliver impact in the sectors we target
- Sell Paper Giant’s work and value to prospective clients in business development meetings and pitches;
- Inform marketing activities to target specific clients and sectors that Paper Giant wants to work with;
- Identify opportunities that match Paper Giants expertise and purpose; and
- Propose ideas and methods for generating new business.
Lead responses that win
- Show clients we’re the right choice through high-quality return briefs and correspondence;
- Respond to specific client needs (opportunities, proposals, RFQs) in a timely fashion;
- Design projects which align Paper Giant’s skills, expertise and team availability to client needs in collaboration with practice teams; and
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to respond to client needs (proposals, RFQs), bringing in expertise and resources from across the studio as required.
Improve business development processes and systems
- With the Resourcing and Operations Lead, find opportunities to make Paper Giant’s business development process more efficient, consistent, reliable and effective;
- Lead internal projects to make changes that improve our business development systems and processes;
- Upskill other team members on effective business development; and
- Help us to design and build a positive, collaborative, inclusive studio culture.
Essential skills and experience
- 4+ years experience in business development, sales, or a similar role, with a focus on achieving revenue targets in an agency context;
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including pitching and proposal writing;
- Demonstrated experience in obtaining repeat business, managing client relationships, and identifying new high-value opportunities in desired sectors;
- Experience working in an agency or consulting environment;
- Familiar with human-centred design methodologies and mindsets;
- Fluent in written and spoken English; and
- Full and current working rights for Australia.

Remuneration
The salary range for this role is between $120,000 - $140,000, depending on your experience.
