The Opportunity

Come and discover the opportunity to join our Processing & Logistics team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a Logistics Planner. As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, we have six major manufacturing sites at Port Kembla that deliver a variety of products, innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

In this diverse and challenging role, you will support the NSW Processing & Logistics team on a national level to ensure our products reach our customers reliably and on-time across road network. You will execute transport plans using your knowledge of logistics processes to achieve the safe and efficient movement and delivery of all our products delivered by road to domestic destinations.

What Will You Do?

Working with a supportive team and providing high levels of service to our customers and operations, you will:

  • be a main contact between carriers, dispatch points and planning teams, facilitating relationships that yield continuous improvement
  • work with our operations and customer service teams to monitor information and priorities, ensuring the correct scheduling of products for distribution on our road networks
  • execute transport plans at a national level and effectively monitor warehouse performance, identifying any opportunities for improvement
  • work closely with our internal stakeholders including our transport, sales and warehouse teams to coordinate the most efficient and cost-effective delivery schedules for our customers

  • exposure to OTM and /or MLO or a willingness to learn
  • a proactive approach in building constructive and effective relationships
  • an aptitude in data analysis and a proactive approach to adopting and utilizing new technologies
  • a strong customer focus and the ability to deal with ambiguity and change
  • high attention to detail and the ability to multitask
  • a commitment to your own safety and wellbeing while caring for others

In this role, there will be some weekend work -this will be on a rotating basis shared with the team – this is a reciprocal arrangement with time off in lieu.
