Your role is responsible for developing and reviewing resilience and recovery policies and programs for Queensland that align with emerging national and international policy directions to strengthen disaster resilience and recovery. This role requires effective relationship management and leadership across key stakeholder groups including national, state and local governments. Develop and advise on strategic disaster resilience and recovery policy for Queensland to achieve organisational objectives and strategies that align with emerging national and international policy and trends. Contribute to, lead and coordinate the preparation of corporate documents, briefings, reports, submissions and projects. Contribute to the management of organisational commitments resulting from external reviews relating to policy decisions. Identify, analyse and progress strategic issues and formulate innovative and workable solutions and strategic advice to the Manager, Director, senior management team and key stakeholders. Provide timely advice and develop accurate briefings and reports for the senior management team regarding key strategic projects and policies. Liaise with, provide advice and respond appropriately to internal and external stakeholders on matters that relate to resilience and recovery policy. Provide project management assistance across resilience, risk reduction, funding and mitigation activities to ensure project milestones are achieved. Provide executive support to key committees and attend stakeholder meetings, incorporating learnings into organisational projects and policies. Undertake research, analysis and engagement on cross-jurisdictional, national and international approaches to specific recovery, resilience, risk reduction, funding and mitigation issues, seeking to identify emerging best practices. Independently plan, draft and deliver standard or routine policies on behalf of the organisation, ensuring the resulting documents are delivered to organisational and stakeholder expectations of time and quality. Develop and maintain collaborative and productive relationships with external stakeholders across national, state and local governments, the research sector and private industry. Undertake related and other duties of equivalent complexity as required.
