In the role of Senior Policy Advisor, you will be accountable for the delivery of policy advice, and the development and delivery of policy initiatives which strike an appropriate balance between safety and red tape reduction. Accountabilities include but are not limited to: Researching complex policy, legislative and systems issues. Contributing to the development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement. Providing expert advice on complex policy, legislative and systems issues. Representing the department on committees and working groups. Preparing high level policy documents. To be considered suitable for the role you will have: knowledge, skills and experience in a mechanical/vehicle/engineering functional area. highly developed written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills. a track record in effective collaboration and consultation with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. other government agencies, industry groups and the community) to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. A track record in utilizing appropriate research methodologies when developing policy, and ability to critically analyse source material.
