On behalf of our client, we are looking for a Medical Practitioner.
The role will be responsible for providing patient centred care that addresses health needs and promotes wellness, based on the latest evidence and medical guidelines including conducting examinations and questioning patients to determine the nature of disorders and illnesses, and recording patients' medical information. Where necessary, ordering laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Interpreting findings to assist in diagnosis, providing overall care for patients, and prescribing and administering treatments, medications, and other remedial measures. Monitoring patients' progress and response to treatment, advising on diet, exercise and other habits which aid prevention and treatment of disease and disorders, arranging the admission of patients to hospitals as necessary.
The daily duties and responsibilities include:
• Use appropriate equipment like stethoscopes, and blood pressure monitors in therapy and diagnosis.
• Assess if patients need investigations, special care, and treatment.
• Prescribe medicines and carry out surgical procedures.
• Examine and discuss with patients in order to diagnose their health conditions.
• Take a complete history and make detailed notes as a legal documentation of treatment.
• Carry out particular procedures within the confines of knowledge and general practice
• Work with other doctors and practice staff and allied health personnel as a team member.
• Liaise with other medical and non-medical professionals to guarantee high quality treatment.
• Work in a manner that is compliant with health and safety practices, with particular regard to the handling and disposal of body fluids and sharps.
• Participate in ongoing training offered by the practice, health care services and other related institutions.
• Keep informed of the latest medical information.
• Promote proper health education.
• Participate in creating, presenting, and monitoring health programs or events as appropriate.
Education – Bachelor degree or higher qualification desirable. Industry experience may substitute.
Experience & Skills
• Must be eligible for registration with AHPRA, RACGP
• Must have positive attitude towards Education, be self-motivated & committed to professional development. Prevocational registered with a view to complete The College Fellowship exams to obtain Vocational Registration within a designated time period.
• Able to respond to demanding and complicated patient situations.
• Effective communication with other doctors as well as patients.
• Maintain concise, timely and accurate confidential records of patients.
• Able to prioritize patients according to their clinical needs.
• Good time management skills to balance clinical and administrative duties.
• Able to solve difficult problems.
• Should be able to challenge decisions if required.
• Strong decision-making and practical skills.
