Located in the picuteresque and scenic part of NSW, Post Office Café Mossvale is a unique hertigate site which had been a post office fo more than a century before convering to retail establishment.
Currently operating a very successful 70 seater café, the owner Sumeet is looking for a Pastry Cook to join its extremely fast paced team.
The menu boasts of delectable cakes, pastries besides the regular breakfast and lunch fare.
As a pastry cook, you are expected to :
1. Prepare a variety of cake and bakery items
2. Creating new items like vegan, gluten free and eggless for special dietary required.
3. Train staff in preparation of the same.
4. Develop, design and create new ideas as we are looking at creating a new product line
5. Ensure excellent quality throughout dessert offering.
6. Follow proper handing and right temperature of all food products
7. Handle all machinery with care and precision.
8. Take order for special occasion cakes and decorate cakes using diff types of icing, glaze
9. Supervise and coordinate all pastry and desert preparation
10. Monitor stocks for all ingredients and mange inventory besides ordering.
11. Maintain all safe practices in the kitchen and practice OSH
12. Ensure compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards
13. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
14. Keep the kitchen a clean and safe place.
You will have a rich background in being creative with your baking skills.
Successful applicants must have :
• Excellent oral and presentation skills
• AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV
• At least 3 years of experience. Australian or local experience preferred.
• In the absence of the above qualification, three additional years of experience besides the one mentioned above
Salary of 70K +super for a 38 hour week generally rostered.
Four week annual leave and ten days sick leave is part of the package
