Title: Senior Mine Surveyor Req ID: 3730 City: Helensburgh State: NSW Country/Region: AU Postal Code: 2508 Department: Surveying About the role: We are currently seeking a Registered Senior Mine Surveyor at our Metropolitan Mine. Our Metropolitan mine is an underground coal mining operation located 30 kilometers north of Wollongong in Helensburgh, NSW producing metallurgical coking coal for export and domestic customers. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager, this position leads a team of Mine Surveyors to provide accurate and timely support to mine planners and operations, whilst ensuring statutory obligations are being met. This is a great opportunity for a Registered Surveyor to lead a team and work with advance survey technology. Duties will include: Oversee the team of Mine Surveyors delivering pit design, set outs, topographic surveys/scanning, data reduction, accurate volume calculation and reporting Management of the gas drainage plan, ensuring boreholes and data are accurately recorded for delivery of Permit to Mine Plans Management of monthly survey activities including aerial flyovers, volume calculations, validation and reporting Producing accurate survey data in accordance with statutory and company standards Establishing survey control, reporting and ensuring that statutory requirements are met Conducting subsidence monitoring for approvals and engineering surveys for mine infrastructure as required. Focusing on health and safety, environmental considerations whilst engaging people as well as have commercial awareness and delivery of results The lifestyle: This position is offered on a Monday to Friday roster with the option of one rostered day off per month or a 9-day fortnight, allowing for a residential lifestyle. Registered with BOSSI as a Mining Surveyor (Unrestricted) in NSW or Queensland (seeking NSW mutual recognition) essential Ideally 5 years experience in mining (coal or metalliferous) Experience in the use of Lecia survey equipment (Total Stations, Scanners & GNSS), AutoCAD Civil3D, Pix4D, Point Studio and CompNet Experience in the use of UAVs for aerial imagery capture and stockpiles Previous management experience or desire to lead a team.
