In Australia, BlueScope is the largest steelmaker, manufacturing 2.6 million tonnes of flat steel products at its Port Kembla Steelworks. Primarily for the domestic market, BlueScope’s branded products are  market leaders in Australia, and include COLORBOND® steel, ZINCALUME® metallic coated steel, TRUECORE® steel house frames, LYSAGHT® and FIELDERS® building products, ORRCON® steel and RANBUILD® sheds. Collectively, BlueScope supplies vital steel products for national building projects across the infrastructure, building and construction, defence and renewable industries.During your apprenticeship we'll provide you with ongoing mentoring and support to help you achieve your career goals and unleash your true potential.  So what are you waiting for? What you'll be doing…You will complete a Certificate III Electrotechnology over 4 years through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and gain practical on-the-job experience alongside highly skilled tradespeople. Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace you will have the opportunity to: Read electrical diagrams, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements; Plan the layout of wiring systems; Test for, locate and repair electrical faults; Use cutting edge PLC technology; Install new electrical systems; Repair and maintain existing equipment including high voltage transformers and circuits. What you'll bring to the table… To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria: Ability to commence in January 2024; Ability to work in a team environment; Commitment to full term of the apprenticeship and study requirements; Willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge; Demonstrated interest/passion in the trade; Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; Ongoing commitment to safety, quality and principles of continuous improvement; Strong electrical aptitude It will also help if you have: A current driver’s licence; Access to reliable transport.
