Chef – Fine dining in the heart of Hampton
Kogan People Solutions is retained to assist our client, who run a successful restaurant in Melbourne’s chic bayside precinct, Hampton.

This celebrated restaurant is the destination for lovers of good food and wine. They’re all about celebrating the finest meat, paired with superb wines. Keen to cement their reputation they now seek a skilled and qualified full time Chef to lead the kitchen team to achieving even greater success.

Salary
Salary in the range $70k to $75k plus superannuation per annum will be offered to the successful applicant.
Tenure
This is a full time, ongoing position.
Responsibilities
• Lead, guide and inspire the kitchen team to deliver the best results.
• Prepare and cook meals and supervise the preparation of meals by kitchen staff.
• Manage kitchen consumables, stock takes, ordering, cost control and budgeting.
• Develop, test, and introduce new menu items.
• Compliance with OH&S and Food Safety standards.
• As part of the management team, you’ll be part of the team leading the venue to greater success.
About you
• You have a passion for the hospitality industry and are up to date on techniques and food trends.
• You can demonstrate an unwavering commitment to flavour and presentation of the highest quality, whilst aligning and motivating a cohesive and hardworking team environment.
To be successfully considered you:
• Possess excellent relevant post-secondary hospitality (cooking) qualifications, to at least Diploma level or an agreed alternative.
• Have at least 2 to 3 years professional experience since earning your qualifications.
• Are available across the working week including weekends and nights.
• Offer proven ability to prioritise, set goals and have the determination to achieve them.
• Possess a thorough understanding of food safety and HACCP.
• Understand cost control, time management, prioritization and cost-efficient procurement practices.
• Have substantial experience working in a similar role.
• You are an excellent leader, with great communications skills, able to get the most out of your team.
• Offer unrestricted full time Australian working rights.
