Airborne Solutions Australia currently has a vacancy for an experienced Applications Specialist who will apply their excellent interpersonal skills liaising with all levels of IT, client and vendor personnel.  You will be responsible for maintaining and providing technical support and release management across a portfolio of industry-leading applications such as payroll/HR, Safety, Flight and Aircrew rostering and finance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain application changes, upgrades, and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Interpret customer requirements and liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to implement change and contribute to solution design
  • Maintain and support a range of software packages and associated Vendor relationships.
  • Monitor performance and reliability of application servers based on “native” or MS SQL databases and the associated stored procedures & SSIS packages required for reporting and systems integration
  • Maintain user operational reports based on MS Reporting Services ensuring efficiency, reliability and effectiveness
  • Maintain data integration/migration between systems
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on technology products, processes and techniques.
  • Proactively drive improvement initiatives

Essential Skills and Experience

  • RAMCO application support experience 
  • Willingness to work within a high safety and integrity culture
  • A relevant educational background to degree or equivalent level
  • 5+ years demonstrable experience in managing applications & associated change, liaising with IT teams, Vendors and Users
  • Solid SQL skills applied in designing, building, installing, configuring, tuning, managing access, for MS SQL Server environments and SSRS Reports.
  • Solid working knowledge of complex, integrated environments applying MS SSIS and stored procedures.
  • Significant experience working with Microsoft Office, Visio, and Project toolsets
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrable experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment, able to communicate effectively & efficiently with all stakeholders, applying effective organisational and time management skills, while operating within budgetary and time constraints
