Role purpose

The Systems Engineer within the AP+ Business Systems Assurance and Workplace Technology team is vital in maintaining the company's technology services and end-user support. This role is integral in facilitating smooth and efficient business operations at AP+.

Key Responsibilities

  • Uphold the availability of AP+ applications and end-user services in line with ITIL best practices.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and partners to ensure service delivery aligns with AP+’s business goals.
  • Monitor the performance of Business Systems and Workplace Technology, conducting thorough analyses post-incident.
  • Administer and configure Business Systems and Workplace Technology, coordinating with external support or subject matter experts as needed.
  • Provide comprehensive technical support to users, both remotely and in-person, addressing Desktop issues. Manage problem resolution and ensure all incidents are recorded.
  • Implement hardware/software installations and routine upgrades per Service Level Agreements.
  • Regularly update support requests and provide realistic resolution timelines.
  • Serve as a secondary support point and escalation contact within the Business Systems Assurance and Workplace Technology team.
  • Interface effectively between users and service providers, relaying all necessary diagnostic information.
  • Escalate technical issues following established procedures and participate actively in the AP+ Change Management Process.
  • Analyse and document client problems proactively within ITSM and other platforms.
  • Offer network and system solutions, ensuring detailed documentation is provided.
  • Maintain Change Logs, and produce resolution reports and Post-Incident Verifications.

Key Challenges

  • Ensuring consistent high availability and performance of all business systems and technology.
  • Balancing the timely resolution of user issues with strategic long-term system improvements.
  • Staying updated with the latest technology trends and their implementation in a fast-paced environment.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in IT or related field is desirable.

• 3+ years of experience in managing and configuring Windows Servers (2012, 2016, 2019).

• Proven experience in Microsoft Cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Azure).

• Practical experience with LAN, WAN, and VPN technologies.

• Hands-on experience with video conferencing tools and software.

• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, VB).

• Proficient in Microsoft Cloud Technology configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with video conferencing software and tools.

• Basic knowledge of scripting languages like Powershell and VB.

• Understanding of network principles and monitoring tools.

• Awareness of cloud-managed network vendors and backup software concepts.

• Knowledge of antivirus products and Mobile Device Management.

• Familiarity with VoIP Technologies and collaborative workspace technologies.

• Commitment to delivering superior customer experiences.

• Strong communication skills, capable of resolving conflicts and building positive relationships.

• Independent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Ability to connect individual tasks with broader company objectives.
