Are you a Perioperative experienced Registered Nurse or an experienced CSSD Manager looking for a change of scenery and a leadership opportunity? Norwest Private Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated CSSD Manager to join the Sterilising Services Team full time. The successful applicant should be able to perform effectively in a growing and dynamic clinical environment, liaising with all members of the healthcare team, including medical, clinical, support service staff, and have a positive attitude, flexibility and proven excellent interpersonal skills. As a key member of the Perioperative leadership team, you will report to and work collaboratively with the Perioperative Manager with accountability for the operational requirements of the department. You will coordinate an exceptional service that is evidence based and of a high standard consistent with AS 5369:2023, infection control guidelines and the Healthscope Policies. Norwest Private Hospital is located in the rapidly developing North West corridor of Sydney and is operated by Healthscope, a leading provider of private healthcare in Australia. The hospital has 277 beds and is a high acuity facility. The theatre complex consists of 16 state of the art operating theatres including a Hybrid theatre and a standalone Endoscopy suite with a further 2 procedural areas. Our specialties include primary focus on Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, General surgery, Urology, Robotic surgery, Colorectal, Bariatric, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral Facio-max, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Gastroenterology and Vascular surgery. As the CSSD Manager your responsibilities will include:

Provide a high standard of evidence based Sterilisation services to the operating theatre and other clinical departments within the hospital
Utilise the Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards and plan, assess, implement and evaluate the cleaning, sterilisation and packing of hospital instruments
Demonstrate clinical leadership skills in allocation, support, supervision, teaching and provision of specific clinical specialty guidance for CSSD technicians

Essential Criteria:

Certificate IV in Sterilisation/Training and Assessment (preferred)
Extensive clinical experience in a perioperative environment
Minimum 3 - 5 years' experience working in a senior role within a CSSD, minimum 2 years in leadership/management position
Sound knowledge and application of accreditation standards, AS/NZ 4187 standards and HICMR
Consultative leadership style and sound negotiation skills
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
An interest in promoting best practice patient care and strong sense of customer service
