Not to mention the birthday and employee anniversary celebration cakes and BBQs!About the role The Field Service Maintenance Mechanic role exists primarily within the Distribution Centre and reports to the Service Manager. The purpose of the Maintenance Mechanic position is to provide customers with an exceptional level of service through maintenance/repair of a range of diesel and petrol powered equipment to exacting standards.This is a permanent, full time position, based in our Pump and Power branch in Port Melbourne.This role requires you to: Repair and maintain vehicles and related equipment to required standards so as to ensure our customers receive reliable and fit-for-purpose plant and equipment. Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations Reassembling engines and parts after repair Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired to comply with company standards and customer expectations of performance Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers Perform servicing maintenance on the customer site as required, and documentation to render equipment serviceable in accordance with Kennards “Ready for Hire” Quality Operational Management (QOM) standards.About you: You are trade qualified as a light vehicle mechanic or diesel fitter, with experience on mobile plant or similar A proven ability to be adaptable to changing priorities and work conditions including the ability to both work as part of a team and to work autonomously to complete tasks within required timeframes.
