The Role 

We are seeking a passionate and motivated Head Squad Coach to oversee the programming and delivery of quality swim programs.  From beginners to athletes, our Head Squad Coach works alongside our Squad Coaches and Learn to Swim Instructors motivating and encouraging swimmers to achieve their maximum potential. 

The successful applicant will be an excellent communicator with both swimmers and families, have well developed coaching and collaboration skills. As the Head Squad Coach, you will:

- Program and facilitate Squad sessions; ensuring each swimmer is offered a memorable experience through your coaching and instruction.
- Work collaboratively with the Learn to Swim team to identify talent and support the transition to squads.
- Build connections with swimmers, their parents to ensure feedback is provided, needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Contribute to invitational training and competition for athletes and coaches when required.
- Represent Mingara Aquatics Swim Club at swim meets and industry related events.
- Ensure the safe delivery of squad sessions through the supervision, risk identification and complying with Work Health and Safety regulations.

Essential Requirements 

- Swimming Australia Advanced Coach Qualification or equivalent (minimum requirement).
- Learn to Swim Qualifications and a willingness to teach if needed.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate
- Valid NSW working with children check (willingness to obtain).
- Planning and organisation skills to deliver coaching programs.
- Knowledge of rules, regulations and guidelines advocated by key industry bodies governing swimming.
- Knowledge and ability to demonstrate correct swimming technique.
- Previous experience as a coach. 
- Australian Work Rights.
