Leading Hand Fitter Weir Minerals TownsvilleFull Time - PermanentOnsite Purpose of Role: As the Leading Hand Fitter based in the Townsville workshop, you will mentor and lead a dedicated and hard-working team of fitters. Undertaking fitting duties to all forms of rotating equipment both in the workshop and in field service.Weir is an industry leader in mining technology and services. We are one of the most recognisable and trusted brands in the industry.Offering a family friendly Monday to Friday roster and much more:Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pmFriday 5am - 12pmOvertime available weeklyAll uniforms, tools and PPE provided.Above industry standard superannuation of 12%Key Responsibilities:Maintaining and repairing Weir products including strip, assembly, and drawing amendmentsRecommending improvements to products, service and internal processes.Working safely and productively both in the workshop and onsite environmentsSupervision and training of fitters, ensuring performance and quality of work in a safe manner, adhering to WMA policies and proceduresEnsure pre start checks are conducted and work areas are safe and hazard freeAssist the Manager to issue service quotations and advise on assembly and inspection matters.Job Knowledge / Education and QualificationsCert III – Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning Experience in mechanical fitting in a workshop and onsite environmentsExperience leading and mentoring a team of fittersWell developed written and verbal communication skillsHigh Risk Fork lift ticket - preferredOverhead crane & doggers ticket - highly desirableCurrent Drivers LicenseWhy choose Weir: Be part of a global organization dedicated to building a better future: At Weir, the growing world depends on us.
