They currently have a vacancy for a formwork and falsework designer & drafter in their Adelaide Head Office. Degree qualified, Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualified in engineering with CAD drafting and design capability and experience preferably in disciplines including: Civil, Structural, Mining & Mechanical are encouraged to apply. Your new role The role offers a variety of interesting work in commercial, civil engineering and mining environments covering diverse and challenging temporary works solutions and designs. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work on some of Australia and New Zealand's major Engineering Civil, Structural, Mining & Commercial projects and operate as part of a highly efficient and innovative Head Office team under the guidance of a Team Leader & part of a group of 9 Senior Engineers and Design Drafters with a combined 200 years of local experience at Head Office in delivering Engineering Designs. You will also work closely with the organisation's local and interstate office Engineer's to deliver projects across the country and overseas. What you'll need to succeed The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
A self-starter with a practical mindset & visualisation in 2D/3D.
Proficiency to advanced level using AutoDesk - AutoCAD 2D and the knowledge to use 3D or BIM.
Design safe, economical, and efficient formwork solutions by developing designs and creating drawings using AutoCAD from conception, hand sketches or developed formwork systems.
Development / Training / internal graduate programme or internship.
Design using 2D Beam software and Finite Element Software (Strand 7).
Passion for engineering and construction.
Excellent problem-solving skills and solid engineering principles.
High spatial IQ.
Work in close co-operation with Engineers, Sales Representatives (Sales Engineers), client stakeholders from across the country and overseas.
Work closely with an Operations team to deliver formwork systems.
Project Management & delivery during the project lifecycle.
Estimating of Formwork Systems - Price Schedule and Material list of quantities of formwork equipment.
Liaison with the Operations department on stock control.
Apply knowledge of Australian/NZ Standards
Undergraduate Degree, Diploma, advanced Diploma or Certificate in an engineering discipline are encouraged to apply
