Webuild is seeking a Construction Estimator for an important project in Cooma.
The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing and delivering estimates and cost plans for construction site up to the tender settlement stage. He/She will work closely with Construction/Project Director, Managers and JV Partners to provide an accurate cost estimation.
Key responsibilities
· Manage and mentoring multicultural estimating team, ensuring team capacity is maximised.
· Assisting Construction Managers, Surveyors in planning and organisation.
· Ensures compliance or our estimating process and Australian Estimating Standards.
· Calculating costs and estimating time scales.
· Participate in reviews on tenders and ensure a compliant submission cost related in the Commercial Offer.
· Direct participation in cost estimating (Top Summary Sheet, Direct Cost, Indirect Cost and Overheads) in tenders as needed.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
· Diploma of Surveying or Administration
Minimum Experience
· 5-8 years estimating or project experience on heavy civil projects and PPP’s.
· Minimum of 5 years estimating experience
· Experience managing multicultural teams
Job-Specific Skills
· Be proficient in all computer software programs used in estimating with particular emphasis on CANDY estimating software.
· Possess strong mathematical and computer skills. Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
· Expertise in one or more areas of heavy civil
· Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities
Key Competencies
· Strong organizational, interpersonal skills
· Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
· Excellent time management skills
· Effective oral and written communication skills
· Must be willing to travel.
