SGS is looking for a Laboratory Technician to join the team based in Notting Hill, Melbourne. This is full time permanent opportunity. This position is responsible for the analytical testing and reporting for soil, water, air and other sample matrices conducted in the Inorganic, Organic and Radio Chemistry Sections by conventional analytical methods and modern instrumental methods including GC, GC/MSMS, HPLC, LC/MSMS, ICP/MS, FIA.
Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
- Perform laboratory equipment calibrations
- Understand and comply to general laboratory QA/QC criteria and NATA accreditation requirements
- Ensure equipment and laboratory is kept clean and tidy avoiding contamination, clutter and to protect the company’s assets
- Maintain and update skills, qualifications and knowledge through courses and on the job training to support improvement
- Ensure that safety equipment is used where necessary, used correctly and used at all times
- Report immediately any unsafe work condition or equipment to the supervisor.
