The Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne is Australia’s first and largest specialist hospital for women and newborns. Our focus is providing high-quality, person-centred health care that is safe, effective and supportive of all women and babies.
We’re a leader and an advocate in women’s health, including areas that are often overlooked or stigmatised such as abortion, endometriosis, menopause and women’s mental health.
Our maternity service is one of Australia’s largest with over 7,600 babies born last year at the Women’s.
Who we need
We’re seeking passionate and highly skilled registered nurses and midwives to join the Women’s in the following key areas:
Operating theatres
Neonatal services
Women’s health, including oncology and gynaecology services
Maternity services

As a member of the Women’s team, you’ll be supported to learn and grow in a warm and friendly environment that offers excellent professional opportunities, amazing camaraderie and a strong focus on providing outstanding care to women and babies.
We are committed to using the social model of health to ensure we acknowledge, understand and respond to the individual needs of women. This means our nurses are part of multidisciplinary teams that actively encourage the empowerment of women and their right to make informed decisions about their health.
Nursing at the Women’s
Our women’s health service provides more than 40 per cent of Victoria’s public health gynaecology services. Our 62-bed neonatal service sees up to 2,000 premature and unwell babies every year from across Victoria, providing care through our neonatal intensive care unit and special care nursery. Our busy operating suite provides a critical service for planned and emergency procedures to support women from all services.

The Women’s is located in the heart of Melbourne’s world-class Parkville Biomedical Precinct, alongside the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and the Royal Children’s Hospital.
