About the Role (your why)
As Senior Cybersecurity Analyst/ Technical Account Manager, you’ll manage and oversee the vulnerability management program for government customers. You will be responsible for identifying, assessing, prioritising, and reporting on the security vulnerabilities of the customer’s systems and applications. You will interact with multiple technical delivery teams and customer application and system owners to ensure timely and effective remediation of the vulnerabilities. You’ll also have the opportunity to define, implement policies and review standard operating procedures for the vulnerability management program and mentor junior analysts.
You’ll be Canberra based and happy to be onsite with our customer approx. 2 days per week. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/ life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!
Due to customer requirements, you will need to be an Australian Citizen with an NV1 Government Security Clearance (or with a current Baseline and the ability to achieve an NV1).
What you’ll do
At the moment, as Senior Cybersecutiry Analyst/ Technical Account Manager you will be focused on:
- Performing vulnerability scans and assessments using tools such as Qualys, Tenable, and Rapid 7
- Analysing and validating the scan results and generating reports and dashboards for the customer and stakeholders
- Prioritising and tracking the vulnerabilities based on the risk and impact to the customer's environment
- Coordinating and communicating with the technical delivery teams and customer application and system owners to facilitate the remediation of the vulnerabilities
- Monitoring and measuring the effectiveness of the vulnerability management program and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement
- Defining and documenting policies and standard operating procedures for the vulnerability management program.
- Providing guidance and leadership to junior analysts and acting as a point of escalation for complex issues.

What you’ll bring
You’ll have previous experience:
- Working for a government customer or in a highly regulated industry
- Leading or managing a team of cyber security analysts
- Defining and implementing policies and standard operating procedures for cyber security programs.
Along with the following:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity, with at least 3 years of experience in vulnerability management
- A security certification such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of common security vulnerabilities and threats, such as the OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 25, etc
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Proficient use of vulnerability scanning and assessment tools such as Qualys, Tenable, and Rapid 7
- Be familiar with vulnerability management frameworks and best practices such as NIST, OWASP, CVSS, etc
- The ability to work independently, and as part of a team; and be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
