Kenmore Hills Early Learning is looking for an Experienced Centre Cook.

The purpose of this role is to deliver a high-quality program by providing nourishing meals for children and maintaining a clean and hygienic environment.

Our Centre Cook will be responsible for the preparation of morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea for children aged from 3 months to 5 years of age.

The role would require you to work Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will meet the following selection criteria:
• Documented ability to produce high quality and nutritious menus & meals, working to a budget and schedule.
• Knowledge of the developmental and nutritional needs of children and babies.
• Ability to plan and share the menu, taking into consideration children with allergies, the availability of fresh produce and the needs of the centre.
• Ability to maintain a high standard to cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen, including purchasing and maintaining necessary equipment.
• Ability to manage the ordering and maintenance of food supplies.
• Ability to promote the health and safety of children and team members through following appropriate policies and procedures in relation to kitchen use, first aid, child protection and WHS, this includes completing relevant records and attending regular training.
• Ability to both work collaboratively as part of the team and to follow directions from the management team.
• Knowledge of the EYLF and QKLG, NQF, and relevant laws and legislations or ability to learn
• Experience in upholding service policies and procedures.
• Commitment to regular professional development, both self-identified and as directed by the management team.
• Understanding of child development and willingness to include children in cooking activities, decision making and planning where appropriate.

Essential Criteria:
• Food Safety Certificate
• ACECQA approved First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Management qualifications
• Working with Children Check
