Primary Details Time Type: Full time Worker Type: Employee Location: Sydney Type: Permanent, full time The opportunity We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Analyst to be part of a high performing, driven finance team. You will play a key role in the planning, reporting and analysis of the AusPac Modernisation Program supporting the lead Business Partner to the Strategy & Transformation Office. Your new role As a Finance Business Analyst, you will conduct data mining and analysis to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for finance and the transformation office. You will provide value adding and commercial insights and reports to senior management globally throughout QBE on a regular and ad hoc basis. Day to day responsibilities may include; Support the facilitation of a productive working relationship between finance and the business, working primarily with the Strategy & Transformation and PMO office Assist the Finance Business Partner to implement and deliver budget and forecasts as per agreed timeframes, including updating the Planning system to reflect agreed expense targets Participate in the testing of changes to the Planning system (particularly FTE planning and reporting for AusPac modernisation program) Assist the Finance Business Partner to prepare monthly reports and analysis to the business, including building new reports to reflect changing business and finance needs Provide timely and accurate expense monitoring and analysis to the business Uplift the financial control environment in the transformation office by deep diving into current processes, engaging with project accountants and financial control, to ensure compliance with project governance frameworks and Group Accounting Policy Have a continuous improvement mindset, identifying opportunities for improvement, and play a key role in the implementation of process improvement initiatives About you The successful candidate is a problem-solver with an aptitude for systems, a keen eye for detail and capable of identifying the key messages to be presented in a concise and intuitive format. Strong analytical skills will be required to monitor performance against business plans, extracting the key messages and drivers of performance. You will also have; Intellectual curiosity, proactiveness, team focused, willingness to learn Tertiary qualification in finance or related field e.g., accounting, finance, actuarial, business Experience within financial services, preferably the insurance industry, or another complex industry Experience in an analytical or commercial role with exposure to financial analysis and modelling Able to use financial systems; Hyperion suite, Essbase, Excel, PowerBI particularly advantageous Demonstrate an ability to build and maintain quality relationships with stakeholders About QBE We can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future - helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
