Coliban Water is a leading water utility dedicated to delivering high-quality drinking water, wastewater, and recycled water services. Operating 24/7, our Assets and Operations business unit plays a crucial role in designing, building, and operating water assets to meet the needs of our customers while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. We are committed to safeguarding public health and the environment.
Position Overview:
As the Manager Operational Technology, you will be an integral part of the Asset & Operations business unit, reporting directly to the General Manager Operations. Your role is pivotal in enabling customer value and driving service strategy improvements through the effective monitoring of operational performance using cutting-edge technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a diverse team of operational professionals, ensuring the continuous operation and support of SCADA control systems, digital meters, and associated infrastructure.
Develop and implement strategies for current and future SCADA and control systems, as well as Coliban Water's new fleet of digital meters.
Act as the subject matter expert for new and innovative initiatives related to automation and field data collection, including traditional and IoT communication methods.
Drive the development of business tools for more effective decision-making, such as a digital twin, predictive analytics, and a fully functioning control room.
Shape, monitor, and evaluate strategic plans for the Control Room, Automation, and Metering teams aligning with broader business objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Tertiary degree in Electrical, Software, Computer Systems, or Automation Engineering with a minimum of 7 years post-graduate experience in a control systems role.
Over 5 years of experience managing diverse operational technical teams in a complex operating environment, such as oil and gas, mining, electricity, or water utility.
Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to influence different technical department leads to achieve innovative business outcomes.
Special Requirements:
Senior position with critical responsibilities; occasional work outside business hours may be required to meet deadlines.
May be required to work at remote locations, requiring overnight stays on occasions.
