A well established Metal Fabrication company located in Wetherill Park NSW is currently seeking an experienced, highly motivated and skilled Workshop Manager to support our rapidly growing operations. This position is responsible for the day to day running of our workshop along with supervising our team of Boilermakers, Fabricators & Welders, This is a hands-on role that requires the ability to be on the tools at times assisting with the fabrication work.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the entire Workshop and manage the existing team of 20+ employees with the assistance of a Leading Hand.
Provide technical leadership, direction, advice and support to teams as required
Coordination and management of the flow of jobs to ensure the task is completed correctly and on time
Prioritisation and organisation of jobs, job scheduling
Assist with all workshop job orders/activities and jobs
High level attention to detail and quality control
Ability to problem solve, make decisions and resolve issues as they arise
Maintain a clean and Safe work environment
Liaise with clients when required
The successful applicant will have:
Demonstrated supervision experience in a workshop environment
Trade qualified as a Boilermaker Welder
Experience with fabrication of architectural metalwork, staircases, balustrades, structural steel and other general fabrication would be ideal
Ability to multitask and plan ahead
Hold a valid Australian drivers License and a Forklift License
Competent in MIG & TIG Welding of Steel, Aluminum, Brass & Stainless Steel.
Demonstrated ability in successfully leading, developing and motivating a team
A self-starting attitude, excellent communication skills and a high level of organisational skills
