About the Role You as Senior Clinician will provide a high level of clinical expertise in relation to psychosocial interventions for consumers presenting with suicidal ideation, and associated behaviours. This group of consumers may present with multiple complex problems including co-morbid high prevalence disorders, associated social relationship issues, everyday living skill needs and Dual Diagnosis.
Participate within a frameworks providing triage, intake and care coordination for consumers presenting with suicidal behaviours and ideas.
Provide case management for up to 3 months linking into long term follow up services.
Provide clinical leadership to multidisciplinary staff members and actively contribute to clinical practice within the mental health service as a senior staff member.
Provide leadership and encourage a culture of active participation in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities including discipline specific training and research.
Participate on a 7 day roster system which includes weekend working and evenings (when required).
Classifications for this position will range from:
RPN Grade 4 NP75 - NP77 ($110,80 - $115,850 per annum pro rata)
OT/SW Grade 3 YB24 - YB27 or YC46 - YC49 ($99,606 - $119,324 per annum pro rata)
Psychologist Grade 3 PL1 - PL4 ($104,078 - $119,095 per annum pro rata)
Your Contribution
Certificate, Diploma or Degree (minimum) in Nursing which meets the registration requirements of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, Division 1 or 3 and relevant postgraduate qualification
Masters Degree or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology recognised by the Australian Psychological Society
Bachelor of Social Work (B.SW). Eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy. Eligible for membership of Australian Association of Occupational Therapy
AHPRA Registration (if applicable)
A current Victorian driver's license
Current National criminal history check, or willing to obtain

About the Suicide Prevention (HOPE) Team The Hope teams aims to prevent relapse of consumers from suicide behaviours. This is a community based service providing outreach to both the consumer and their support networks. The team adopts a psychosocial approach to recovery using the CAMS framework. Caseloads are small due to the needs of this consumer group. The team has lived experience staff both Consumer and Carer Peer Support Workers.
