As a Principal Engineer for the Transport Team, you will be supporting a multidisciplinary team and developing integrated solutions that meet client requirements within agreed project timeframes and budget. This is an opportunity ideal for a Chartered Engineer with demonstrated leadership skills and significant technical expertise in major roads and highways design, engineering and project management.

The Egis Canberra Office (formerly Calibre Professional Services) is a local civil engineering consultancy operating in Canberra for over 40 years. Our Transport Team have proven experience in the full life-cycle delivery of infrastructure and urban development projects within the ACT and NSW, with intergraded and optimised outcomes. We a diverse project portfolio ranging from highways, local or arterial roads, intersections, interchanges and trunk services infrastructure. We are growing and we would love for a skilled Principal Engineer with a specialist background in Roads to join us!

What you’ll do

  • Run the engineering program weekly by allocating resources to oncoming projects.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice through all stages of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies, design strategies and construction.
  • Develop detailed road network designs using 12d Software and AutoCAD when required.
  • Lead a team of engineers, providing technical advice and direction to all employee levels through technical challenges and issues.
  • Review and sign off on engineering and technical outputs such as technical option reports, engineering principles & studies, detail designs and test procedures, etc. to ensure compliance to relevant standards.
  • Partake in business and client development opportunities with the support of the Egis leadership team.
  • Manage project work technically and contractually to ensure that it meets technical requirements.
  • Financial management of projects by monitoring the actual time and cost expended on the total project against the budget, informing client of any changes in scope of work or other causes of variances from project resources.
