We are seeking an experienced AOD worker with personal experience of substance use and recovery to join our team. You will be part of our Lived Experience workforce, developing skills as a Lived Experience Educator – AOD Peer Perspective.
Reporting to the Lived and Living Experience Lead you'll work collaboratively alongside the Lived Experience Educator – Consumer Perspective and Lived Experience Educator – Family/Carer Perspective.
As AOD Peer Educator you will use your personal living experience of substance use and the recovery journey plus professional experience to:
- Provide education, training and peer supervision to members of the AOD peer workforce.
- Develop and provide training and education for all MHAOD staff to increase the understanding and appreciation for AOD peer work and the value that it brings to the organisation.
- Develop key bodies of work related to the AOD peer discipline, as outlined in the EACH Lived and Living Experience Strategic Plan 2023-2028.
- Inform practice, build connection and professional relationships, and inspire hope and optimism.
- Identify professional development opportunities for staff within the peer workforce and facilitate their attendance at same, including peer supervision.
