The SAM team support each other and work collaboratively across a range of managed and project services. This is a chance to make your mark in a business with strong people and customer focus.
This role is preferably located in Canberra, although remote work is supported, and is ideal for someone who is experienced in Software Asset Management and Software Licensing and keen to develop a career with loads variety and opportunity.
If you already have Baseline Security Clearance this will be advantageous, it is required.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a proactive, independent, enthusiastic team member who’s interested in being part of a larger group delivering a high quality and complex service to our customers. You’ll bring expertise developed over 3+ years in a Software Asset Management, IT Asset Management, or Licensing Sales, as you will be supporting the delivery of the Software Asset Management (SAM) service for a large Federal Government account.
Your ability to work with other members of the client management team to develop and deliver quality solutions for our customer is critical to the success of our service.
As part of the role you will provide quality customer service enhancements in optimising the SAM Service, planning the service implementation, championing the delivery of the service and processes, and verification and continued maintenance of the SAM Service.
What You’ll Do
In this role you will work collaboratively with other Software Asset Management (SAM) team members, Software Licensing Consultants, and Service Delivery Managers. Essentially, the Software Asset Manager will:
- Manage the relationship with key Customer stakeholders and Datacom Managed Services.
- Act as SAM Subject Matter Expert for the account.
- Ensure effective and smooth delivery of our customer’s SAM services.
- Contribute to the achievement of the outcomes of the contract.
- Delivery and support the Business Development Process.
- Ensure that SAM plans, processes and procedures are delivered incorporating good practise methodologies, accurately documented, successfully implemented, appropriately communicated to customer’s stakeholders, and provide continuous SAM Improvement with our services for our customers.
- You are a key contributor to the management of the Software Asset Lifecycle for our customer. This includes identifying the software inventory, capturing license entitlements, performing ongoing software compliance checks, and remediation as appropriate.
- Manage, maintain, and facilitate the renewal of software maintenance by validating the renewal details to ensure the information is correct and valid and also update the Software Asset Register/Technology with the new licensing details.
- Facilitate software procurement for the account including the tasks of retrieving quotes from software vendors or Datacom’s internal procurement team, approval from the business and facilitating the procurement and associated software lifecycle tasks.
- Review current software Terms and Conditions, License Agreements, and License Contracts to ensure that the account is not exposed to any breaches or risks.
- Provide quality customer service through adherence to Datacom’s Asset Management service delivery methodology and processes.
- Experience in using SAM technologies and their capabilities, in particular, Flexera FlexNet Manager Suite and/or Snow License Manager. You will be responsible for monitoring the health of the SAM technology and will proactively work with technical teams to ensure the technology is maintained to acceptable standards.
- Experience with ITSM tools like Cherwell or Service Now will be advantageous.
- Interpret data outputs from the SAM technologies and other tools to provide accurate and timely reporting.
- Be able to follow documented procedures to support the deliver of consistent services.
- Perform license reclamation activity and record cost avoidance.
- Propose remediation and optimisation activities that may result in reduced compliance risk and/or financial savings and cost avoidance.
- Liaise with service management, and customer teams to define, optimise, and develop SAM standards, processes, procedures, plans and controls to ensure appropriate service asset information is recorded and maintained.
- Work collaboratively with a larger SAM team in delivering SAM Services as well as autonomously within your dedicated account.
You must hold Australian Citizenship as a Baseline Security Clearance is required, and it will be advantageous if you already have one.
