Responsibilities
· Design, plan, organise and oversee the construction of civil engineering projects
Main Tasks
· Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations and sample analysis
· Develop detailed specifications, designs, drawings, plans, and reports using various computer applications along with the determination of construction methods and procedures
· Estimate total costs, prepare detailed cost plans, and manage budgets and project resources
· Schedule purchases and deliveries of construction materials, plant, and equipment along with the coordination of site activities
· Determine construction methods and oversee construction services including land preparation, earthworks, stormwater, and road construction.
· Ensure the compliance of the project with health, safety, and other regulatory requirements
· Monitoring changes and resolving design and development problems
· Ensure the completion of projects within the budget and on time
· Coordinating with subcontractors, architects, and clients on related issues
Relevant Qualifications, Experience and Skills
· Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering field
· Experience in engineering designs and projects
· Ability to work under pressure to achieve deadlines while balancing competing demands
· High level verbal communication and writing skills
· Teamwork skills
· Problem solving and decision-making skills
