Role Based in Goldfields - WA (Tropicana Mine Site)
Permanent - Full Time
FIFO from Perth - WA
Roster 4 days in/3 days off
SGS is looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to join the team based in Tropicana. A full time opportunity with this FIFO roster of 4/3 with 12 hour day shifts.
Duties include however, not limited to:
-Manage priorities and monitor progress to ensure timeliness and quality of results.
-Maintain appropriate staff levels and encourage enhancement of skills.
-Ensure adequate organisational structure is in place.
-Ensure staff training and records are kept.
-Responsible for quality and accuracy of results.
-Provide regular management and quality reports.
-Maintain and improve own knowledge to be able to contribute towards progression of the laboratory.
-Responsibility for P&L whilst working within a defined budget.
-Contribute to setting operating and capex budget
Qualifications
-Professional qualifications in chemistry or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrable experience
-Experience in laboratory work and chemical knowledge.
-Understanding of Fire Assay
-Experience with MP-AES
-Basic understanding of computer applications
-Experience in supervising staff
-Demonstrated experience in administration
-Competent in using CCLAS LIMS
-Knowledge of Company Quality Systems
-Basic business finance understanding
