Qualifications & Experience
Certifiate III or equivalent in automotive diagnosis and repair;
• At least 5 years work experience as a motor mechanic;
• Experienced and competent in diagnosing/troubleshooting, recommending, repairing, reporting and quality control electrical faults and installing electrical components;
• Experienced in handling both European made and Japanese made vehicles;
• Good communication skills and the ability to work unsupervised
Tasks & responsibilities
1. Inspecting vehicles completing preventive maintenance, maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures;repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components,repairing body damage
2. Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters.
3. Maintains vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage
4. Diagnose / Troubleshoot, Recommend, Repair, Report, and quality control electrical faults and install electrical components
5. Take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, works safely and are self-motivated, hardworking, team orientated and have good communication skills
6.. Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
7. Complies with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.8. . Maintains vehicle appearance by cleaning, washing, and painting.
8. Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
9. Keeps shop equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
10. Contains costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.
11. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.
12.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
13. Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
14. Perform some task that might be requested by the Manager from time to time.
