We are looking for a Product Portfolio Leader who will lead the Portfolio Management Review process as part of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for Lion Australia and New Zealand.

This advertisement will be live from December 5th, 2023 to January 4th, 2024.

This critical role will join our Marketing Innovation team, reporting to the Innovation Director LAU. This will be a full-time permanent position based in our Sydney CBD office.


The Product Portfolio Leader is responsible for the integrity of our processes- supporting all product change activities including new product development. The scope will reach from development through to the launch stage, and the process of life cycle and portfolio management thereafter. This role will facilitate the integration of new and changed or deleted products, including the plan for managing phased-in/phased out of products through the Product Management Review (PMR) of the (IBP) process.


A day in the life…

To act as a custodian of the “Portfolio Planning process” being responsible for the development of one integrated rolling 36-month Product plan
Develop and review the strategic planning gap analysis for the product portfolio with category managers & marketing and finance leaders ensuring recommendations for material gap closing or opportunity exploiting areas are created for effective decision-making.
Work to the timelines and milestones in conjunction with the multi-functional project teams and planning teams
Ensure that all PMR projects are effectively integrated into the planning processes, including integration into the Integrated Business Planning processes
Work closely with the demand manager and supply chain planning manager to maintain tactical balance of the product plans and manage the escalation of issue resolution
Think of scenarios and identify risks and opportunities to the product portfolio and work with stakeholders on mitigation actions and contingency plans

To be successful in this role…

At least 5 years of supply chain or marketing experience within the FMCG Beverage industry.
Comprehensive understanding of business planning, product development, brand & sales management processes, and general understanding of how the business plan in SAP works would be beneficial
A strong understanding of customer, consumer and trade research data source, its strengths, and limitations
An understanding of the major business management processes (e.g. value chain and supporting process – business development, demand, supply, finance, organisational readiness, and strategy deployment)
Very strong stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to motivate colleagues to deliver work above and beyond their normal work scope
Strong Project management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work in a changing environment.
